The celtic love knots were hand made using bias strips from gold Michael Miller Fairy Frost fabric. I found the design on an historic website and enlarged it for the quilt.

I drew this tree myself. A Michael Miller Marble in olives and golds is the perfect bark fabric. The leaves are gold Michael Miller Fairy Frost and match the fabric in the celtic love knots at the outside edge of the quilt. A friend with an embroidery machine did names and birthdates on each leaf. There are several blank ones to balance the tree and allow for new entries. More separate blank leaves were included with a first aide kit of fabrics used in the quilt.
